Glimmer

Hey Ian what have you done?
You went away too early to vanish like the sun
I guess you couldn't stand the night that had just begun
Growing around your world like some freaking spawn
I know you couldn't see clearly beyond the glimmer of dawn
But why do it just a wee bit sooner?
Why be a little rash?
Couldn't wait to feel the never ending hurt slowly fade away?
You could have stayed another morning to pick a nicer day
I know life like a bad joke was hard to swallow
As the walls boxed you in and around
Like a sick tightening noose at the gallows
Wish you could have stayed a bit more
We could have had more tea...just a little bit more
